Cosmetology students utilize a salon-type environment to integrate academic studies with technical knowledge and skills – in other words they use the knowledge they have learned throughout school to become proficient and employable in the world of hair. Cosmetology’s instructional sequence is designed to provide job-specific training for employment in cosmetology careers, with a strong science foundation if students choose to attend college. Mastery of topics including advanced training in sterilization and sanitation procedures, all facets of cutting, styling, caring for and creative techniques in hair, nail and skin care. The process itself blends online learning, hands-on workshops, exciting guest artists and study trips to successful business partners.
After successful completion of the Cosmetology program, passing the Texas Cosmetology Examination and paying the required fees, students can receive their Texas Cosmetology State License immediately after high school graduation. Student costs involve registration, fees, personal tools and supplies.

This program offers hands-on training, amazing guest artists, study trips and a self-paced curriculum focused on competitions, salon skills, and the Texas Cosmetology State Examination. Students are responsible for Texas Department Licensing Registration fee and supplies.
Graduate from high school with your Texas Cosmetology State License! Maximize skills and theory learned in Cosmetology 1 through an intense focus on industry readiness and the Texas Cosmetology State Licensing Examination. Upon successful completion of Cosmetology 2, you will have an opportunity to obtain your Texas Cosmetology State License by passing written and practical examinations to earn your license. You are responsible for State Licensing Examination fees & supplies.
Prerequisite: Successful completion of Cosmetology 1 including the 4 required modules that converts to 500 clock hours.
Technical Certification Attainable: Texas Cosmetology Operators License
