Howdy! My name is Melissa Manske and I am thrilled to be teaching culinary arts at the Guthrie Center! Born and raised just outside of Houston, I earned my bachelor’s degree from Texas Christian University, my master’s from the University of Houston, and my culinary arts degree from the Culinary Institute of America.
I have multiple years of experience working within the hospitality industry including hotels, restaurants, institutions, banquets and catering, and higher education. In the past few years, I have held the positions of Retail Food Manager at the University of Texas Medical Branch, Patient Food Manager at Park Plaza Hospital, Pastry and Banquet Chef at the Beaumont Country Club, and Culinary Arts Instructor and Assistant Culinary Director at the Art Institute of Houston.
I have volunteered with the Guthrie Center for 2 years with the Chef Training program before joining the Guthrie family full time. I look forward to mentoring our students and building partnerships throughout Spring Branch Independent School District.
