The Harold D. Guthrie Center for Excellence serves high school students in the Spring Branch Independent School District in Houston, Texas.
Dr. Hal Guthrie was instrumental in providing the vision and support for Career & Technical Education programs throughout Spring Branch ISD and on our campus. Dr. Guthrie served as General Superintendent for sixteen years before retiring in 2002. During his tenure, our district became recognized as an innovative and experiential leader in education throughout the USA that continues through this day. Dr. Guthrie's years of service was recognized as the Spring Branch Career Center was renamed The Guthrie Center in 2003.

Spring Branch Independent School District offers career and technical education programs in Agriculture Science, Business Education, Family and Consumer Science, Health Occupations, Marketing Education and Trade & Industry Education. Admission to these programs is based on ability, aptitude, need, age, and grade level.
