Criminal Justice
The Criminal Justice program at Guthrie is the ideal place for students interested in career areas related to law enforcement and the legal system. They will be able to explore a variety of avenues to find the college degree or plan career that will help them attain their goals. Sophomores and above can choose from courses in Law Enforcement, Courts Systems, Forensic Science and Security Services to prepare them for successful internships and college-level course work, a requirement for any level of Law Enforcement.
Criminal Justice students become well-versed in the laws of the United States and Texas and how careers such as police officer, attorney, probation officer, forensic scientist and crime scene investigator apply these laws in their daily work routine.
Students with a calling to serve others, ability to keep a cool head under pressure, desire to study law, protect our rights and freedoms or focus in forensic areas of science will find interest and success in the Guthrie Criminal Justice classes. Forensic Science is a state approved advanced science class.
