CRIMINAL JUSTICE AND LAW

 

I hold a Juris Doctor Degree from South Texas College of Law, and Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice, magna cum laude, from the University of Houston- Downtown. I have been involved in the Criminal Justice field since 1988 when I completed the University of Houston-Downtown Criminal Justice Center Police Academy and was awarded the top academic honors for my class. I have been involved in many aspects of law enforcement including mental health, patrol, probation as well as supervisor of a tactical unit.

I joined the Guthrie Center in 2003, and have training in Forensics, Computer Forensics, and other areas at the national and state level. My professional certifications include: Certified Mediator, TCLEOSE Certified Peace Officer; certified iNACOLonline instructor; Teen CERT Instructor and I am a Texas DPS and NRA certified Handgun Instructor as well as Texas Educator’s certification.
