Horacio Rodriguez

filmmaking and commercial photography

I began teaching in 2007. As a teacher I strive to inspire my students to believe in themselves and set goals to achieve their dreams.

I grew up in Houston and as a kid was producing ‘radio’ dramas on my brother’s cassette recorder for a pretend radio broadcast. By the time I was in high school my storytelling passion turned into winning short story writing contests.

At The University of Texas I was in my element when I entered the College of Communication, and I received my Bachelors in Radio-TV-Film.

My television production experience includes over 10 years at Fox Sports Net and Pan-american Sports Net (PSN) where I wrote and produced live sports events and promo spots. Later I worked as Writer/Producer for the “LPGA Today” monthly magazine show producing inspirational stories of struggle and triumph.

I have also worked on independent film productions, including my own. In 1997 I shot an independent feature film and premiered it at the Landmark River Oaks Theater. My original screenplay submission earned me an invitation to the National Association of Latino Independent Producers (NALIP) Screenwriters Lab in NY, a screenplay development workshop led by the head story analyst at CBS.
